This position provides site safety, including associate-level environmental safety solutions for Marvin's safety and environmental areas. This individual will develop and maintain positive relationships with coworkers and necessary regulatory agencies related to EHS aspects of the business. This position will supply appropriate input to all business functions related to EHS compliance and best practices in a timely/efficient manner. The EHS Coordinator is responsible for working with others to establish effective systems and processes that will ensure regulatory compliance, minimize costs, and maximize efficiency with the goal of maintaining an OSHA rate 50% below the industry average while pursuing the ultimate goal of zero.
•In collaboration with the EHS Manager, develop and maintain written safety programs and procedures to ensure OSHA compliance and VPP certification or recertification
•Track and analyze data on incidents and safety observations and use this data to suggest changes to improve safety performance and provide safety training to all associates on site.
•Investigate all incidents and contribute feedback
•Gather, develop and submit all required data for the OSHA Programs annual report, complete special projects related to Workforce Safety programs/audits, state safety projects and other safety projects as necessary, ensure corporate policies/practices are current, compliant and administered regarding federal, state and local regulations and company requirements.
•Maintain involvement with governmental/professional organizations
•Facilitate site specific OSHA, VPP, employee health and wellness, ergonomics, and other training needs and improvement programs.
•Coordinate Safety Committee meetings, monthly safety audits, and site specific audits.
•Manage the site specific internal safety inspections
•Maintain working knowledge of applicable environmental regulations
•Maintain all necessary data collection to support environmental reporting and planning, evaluate new product requests for environmental concerns of all sites, monitor site specific environmental compliance and implement, conduct or direct corrective action when needed. Other environmental activities as required.
•Annual professional development in addition to the required education/training of this position.
•Perform other duties as assigned.
Education, Training and Experience:
•Environmental and Safety courses/education/certification is strongly preferred
•Minimum of one-year experience in environmental compliance role is preferred
•The following courses/certifications/trainings are all strongly preferred:•30-hour OSHA
•40-hour Hazardous Waste Operations Emergency Response
•Forklift (train-the-trainer certified)
•First Aid and CPR/AED
•Blood borne pathogens (train-the-trainer certified)
•To perform this job successfully, an individual should have working knowledge in the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, etc.) and the ability to learn proprietary software
