Production Associate (ROA)
Location: Roanoke, VA
1st shift: M - F, 7:00am - 3:00pm Pay: Based on experience; Minimum $12.50/hr
2nd shift: M - F, 3:00pm – 11:00pm Pay: Based on experience; Minimum $14.00/hr [$12.50 (base) + $1.50 (shift differential)]
3rd shift: Su – Th, 11:00pm – 7:00am Pay: Based on experience; Minimum $14.50/hr [$12.50 (base) + $2.00 (shift differential)]
*Overtime maybe required during busy season (April – November), as needed.
The Production Associate performs various manufacturing and assembly tasks in a safe manner while in compliance with all PPE requirements. Each task is to be completed with results that exceed customer expectations and maintain a balanced line flow that ultimately meets delivery schedules.
Perform repetitive assembly tasks using hand and power tools, and automated equipment to build and produce high quality window products.
Retrieve parts from green racks according to the pick list or motion devices and deliver to the line. Report defective parts or questionable conditions to the Supervisor.
Perform light fabrication (drill holes, measure, cut, saw) to facilitate product sub-assembly.
Slide, lay, snap, crank or otherwise assemble materials to produce sub-assembly or finished product.
Notify Supervisor of any mechanical or material issues.
Attach appropriate labels and tags to products and packages.
Ability to communicate in oral or written English to carry out essential functions
Have the ability to read and understand visual and written assembly instructions on a computer screen to retrieve parts.
Have the ability to be cross-trained in multiple functions within and between multiple department lines.
Have the ability to operate hand and power tools to fabricate and assemble.
Have the ability to maintain regular and satisfactory attendance and punctuality.
Must be 18 years old
PHYSICAL DEMANDS – Associates are required to stand or walk on a concrete floor surface for up to a ten-hour shift. Associates must be able to perform repetitive hand, wrist and arm motions, including reaching above the shoulders. Associates must also be able to bend, stoop, and turn. Lifting requirements: 20 lbs. frequently; 40 lbs. occasionally for light production; and 40 lbs. frequently and 50 lbs. occasionally for heavy production.
Education, Training and Experience:
- High School Diploma/GED required.
- Candidates must submit to and pass a drug screen and background check.
