Schedule:
1st shift:  M - F, 7:00am - 3:00pm     Pay:  based on experience;  Minimum $13.10/hr 
2nd shift:  M - F, 3:00pm – 11:00pm     Pay:  based on experience;  Minimum $14.60/hr  [$13.10 (base) + $1.50 (shift differential)]
3rd shift:  Su – Th, 11:00pm – 7:00am     Pay: based on experience;  Minimum $15.10/hr  [$13.10 (base) + $2.00 (shift differential)]
*Overtime maybe required during busy season (April – November), as needed.

Position Summary
The Material Handler position is responsible for supporting production by maintaining warehouse accuracy and being prompt with parts requests; this is vital to production success.  This position requires an individual that is highly focused on safety and can handle a high volume of parts requests, as well as, having the ability to prioritize.  It is essential that a Material Handler can work successfully both independently and as part of a diverse team.  Role is responsible for continuously striving to improve productivity, effectiveness, quality, and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Read, sort and process complete orders.
  • Attach appropriate labels and tags to products and packages.
  • Ability to read and understand visual and written assembly instructions on a computer screen to retrieve parts from a pick list.
  • Issue parts to the lines as needed and operate a forklift to move/deliver parts to the line in a timely manner.
  • Operate power hand tools, scanners, computers, and work with various other equipment.
  • Assist with the upkeep of warehouse inventory and with the loading and unloading trucks.
  • Notify the Supervisor of any mechanical or defective material issues.
  • Attach appropriate labels and tags to products and packages.
  • Ability to read and understand visual and written assembly instructions on a computer screen to retrieve parts from a pick list.
  • Receive cross-training in multiple functions within and between various departments.
  • Maintain a safe work environment by following safety rules and participating in reporting of unsafe conditions or instances.
  • Maintaining housekeeping by having clean docks and warehouse aisles; stack material neatly and safely.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS – Associates are required to stand or walk on a concrete floor surface for up to a ten-hour shift.  Associates must be able to perform repetitive hand, wrist and arm motions, including reaching above the shoulders. Associates must also be able to bend, stoop, and turn. Lifting requirements: 20 lbs. frequently; 40 lbs. occasionally for light production; and 40 lbs. frequently and 50 lbs. occasionally for heavy production.

Education, Training and Experience:

  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • Computer classes or production experience helpful.
    Forklift certification required.
  • Candidates must submit to and pass a drug screen and background check.
