Position Overview:
The Project Manager will provide project management services to select projects across the Marvin organization.  This role will be responsible for navigating projects to successful outcomes through the project initiation, planning, performing & closure phase of the project life cycle.  This role will be responsible for project scope, cost, and quality management.  The Project Manager will help to establish and maintain project management approaches, standards, templates & methodologies.  This role will at times also entail providing business analysis, change management, and communication management expertise to help insure successful project outcomes.  Individuals in this role should also anticipate some assignments related to project initiation, budgeting, and other administrative duties as assigned.

Essential Job Functions:

Project Initiation (~20% time allocation)

• Business analysis and solution research
• Work with business analysts and business customers to explore project options and alternatives
• Aid the organization with research of potential future projects
• Aide in project selection processes

Project Planning (~20% time allocation)

• Develop project plans and schedules
• Develop project budgets
• Develop project risk plans
• Develop project communication plans
• Develop project staffing and responsibilities plans
• Work with others to establish realistic plans to achieve project objectives

Project Execution (Solution Delivery, Monitor/Control Project Progress) (~50% time allocation)
• Lead cross-functional teams in the implementation of strategic projects
• Monitor project team performance / adherence to project plans
• Manage project schedule, project budget, project risks, project scope and change, project quality
• Employ excellent communication skills to efficiently expedite work including: initiating and facilitating discussions; communicating proactively and with a bias toward collaboration, and efficient action
• Engage project sponsors in project activities
• Successfully close projects

Establishing and Improving Project Management Methodology (~10% time allocation)
• Utilize project management tools and templates as outlined in company project management methodology
• Participate in the establishment and on-going improvement of project management methodology to improve marketing productivity

• Limited travel required (approximately 5-10% on average, sometimes more at project peaks)
• Utilize and improve the project management methodology including tool selection and implementation
• Work with third-party support vendors as needed on support issues or project initiatives
• Establish communication plans that support efforts between project team members to ensure that the project team and executive sponsors are provided clear and accurate information in a timely manner
• Develop project schedules and project plans and ensure adherence to the plan by all project participants
• Gathering and updating project materials, completing budgeting, forecasting, project documentation, business flows, and lessons learned documents
• Speaking to details of the project to both the business and technical teams from beginning to end of all projects

Education/Experience:
• BA/BS preferably in project management, information systems, engineering, or business administration; other areas of study are acceptable with relevant work experience; additional consideration to MS or MBA level education
• Ability to provide in-depth project management expertise
• Substantial understanding of complex, cross-functional business principles
• Additional consideration will be given to individuals who, in addition to the above, have construction industry or related experience
• Typically a minimum 5-7 years work experience, with specific experience in cross-functional project management
• Demonstrated experience organizing information, thinking critically, communicating effectively, and working as part of a team
• Experience working with outside vendors to complete projects and achieve objectives
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Project)
• Certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) is desirable; Working on a path toward Project Management Professional (PMP) certification will be an ongoing requirement
• Travel per project requirements, estimated 15-25% on average
